What works took place?
We built a second, good size meeting room, we refurbished and insulated the existing hall, including lowered ceiling, insulated floor and secondary glazing. The hall is now draft free, warm and comfortable. The hall can now be accessed via a ramp, ensuring the whole community can take advantage of the new facilities. There are two kitchens with new, units, counter and appliances. There are three separate WCs, with baby change, one is marked as disable but all three are spacious. The stage in the original hall has been re-built and will have stage lighting and AV equipment to allow theatrical groups, performers, live music and screening of films and talks, bringing essential life experiences to the heart of the village. The Hall will also have broadband fitted, to encourage youth groups, job seekers and clinics to use the space. The improved hall will also enjoy renewable heating and energy to offset costs and carbon footprint. Outside there will be a small community orchard and raised beds for accessible gardening.
